How to choose the right business hotel in Bangalore

A business hotel gets judged on a narrower set of things than a leisure stay: the commute, the desk, the Wi-Fi, and whether reception can solve a problem at 9 PM on a Tuesday. Star ratings and lobby photography rarely tell you any of that. Here's what to actually check before you book a stay in Bangalore for work.

1. Start with the commute, not the star rating

Bangalore's traffic makes distance the single biggest variable in how your trip actually feels. A property a few hundred metres from your office or client site beats a five-star tower forty minutes away, every time. If you're working out of ITC Green Centre, Manyata Tech Park or the Whitefield corridor, map the daily commute before you look at anything else.

2. Test the Wi-Fi claim, don't take it on faith

"High-speed Wi-Fi" appears in almost every hotel listing in the city; the experience behind it varies enormously. Ask what the actual speed is, and whether it holds up during peak evening hours when every guest on the floor is on a video call at once.

A business hotel is judged on the nine-to-six, not the turn-down service.

3. A room to sleep in vs a room to work in

Most hotel rooms give you a bed, a television and a narrow ledge that technically counts as a desk. For a stay longer than a couple of nights, a dedicated work desk with proper lighting, away from the bed, changes how much of the day you can actually get done from your room.

4. Dining that doesn't run on room service alone

Room service marks up every meal and starts to feel repetitive fast. A property with its own restaurant, ideally one that isn't purely a hotel-guest premium menu, keeps a week-long trip from turning into a diet of the same three dishes.

5. Meeting space, on the same address

If your trip involves interviews, client meetings or a small off-site, a property with its own conference room saves the time and awkwardness of booking a separate venue. AV support and flexible seating matter more than a grand hall you'll never use.

Run any Bangalore shortlist through those five checks and the list gets short fast. At Regal Business Suites, every suite has a real work desk and fast Wi-Fi, Foyer serves three meals a day in-house, and our AV-ready conference room sits on the same address, just a 3-minute walk (600 m) from ITC Green Centre.
